Exciting advancements in healthcare AI are here! The recent study introduces MedS-Bench, a benchmark for evaluating large language models (LLMs) in clinical contexts, covering 11 critical tasks. The research reveals that leading models like GPT-4 and Claude-3.5 struggle with complex clinical tasks. To bridge this gap, MedS-Ins, a large-scale instruction-tuning dataset, was developed, comprising 5M instances across 122 tasks. The newly fine-tuned model, MMedIns-Llama 3, outperformed existing models, showcasing the potential of tailored LLMs in medicine.
