Demo of the LG TV Integration with Amwell

Demo of the LG TV Integration with Amwell

At a recent conference, I had a chance to chat with Atul Singh, General Manager, Digital Health at LG Electronics about their relatively recent virtual care solution with Amwell. It makes a lot of sense why Amwell and LG would want to work together. Many hospitals and healthcare organizations have already installed LG TVs in their organizations or they will as they build new hospitals or update their existing exam rooms. Those TVs often act as a hub of information for a patient and increasingly are becoming a patients connection with their nurses and doctors.Given that final piece, LG and Amwell…

Epson DS-790WN Scanner Review

Epson DS-790WN Scanner Review

We're back again with another review of a high quality, high speed scanner.  In this case, we had a chance to review the Epson DS-790WN.  This fast, secure scanner would be a great fit for many of healthcare's scanning needs and could work great for a lot of healthcare organizations.  Besides having the core capabilities you would expect in a high speed scanner, I really loved the 4.3" color touch screen on this scanner.  While most scanners can do a lot of the same functions when connected to a PC, the intuitive touch screen is a great feature for healthcare where you…

This World AIDS Day – Reflecting on Health IT as a Tool for Advancing Health Equity and Ending the HIV Epidemic

December 1st is World AIDS Day, when we collectively remember those who died due to AIDS-related illnesses and renew our commitment to work together to end the HIV epidemic and support people with HIV. This year’s theme, “Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV,” emphasizes accountability and action. Collaborative, community-based, cross sector, and whole-of-government approaches that address clinical and social determinants of health (SDOH) are needed to support communities disproportionally affected by HIV and achieve national HIV/AIDS goals. Interoperable health IT, with health equity as a fundamental design feature, is an important tool to enable these efforts.Health IT…
